Welcome to GuitarFest IV

First held in August 2008, GuitarFest (the Isle of Man Guitar Festival) was conceived as a long weekend of fantastic music for guitar lovers, featuring not only concerts but workshops and master-classes with top international stars. Scheduled to coincide with the Manx Grand Prix, it's both a hit with residents and gives visiting race fans the chance to add another dimension to their stay on the Island with a feast of great live music. Naturally, non-bikeoholics are equally welcome to come and enjoy the atmosphere!

Guitar music embraces so many genres and playing styles, all with their own unique appeal. That's why we aim to offer an eclectic mix at GuitarFest, from rock, blues and folk through world and roots music to jazz and classical.

For GuitarFest IV in August 2011, we are delighted to welcome three Englishmen and three Australians ... Representing the Antipodes – we are proud to present Classic FM’s “The Guitarist” Craig Ogden, double ARIA award winner Jeff Lang, and “blistering acoustic roots performer” Derrin Nauendorf. Representing Britain are Jon Gomm "one of the world's most successful, gifted and inspirational guitar players", classical guitar virtuoso and composer Gary Ryan, and stunning singer-songwriter-guitarist Angelo Palladino.

Jon, Craig, Jeff, and Island-based musician Simon Campbell will be offering master-classes or workshops at Peter Norris Music’s Shop during the weekend. A broad spectrum of Manx musicians will be performing on the Peter Norris Music Stage in the Villa Marina Promenade Suite throughout the weekend, so come along, meet fellow musicians and be inspired!
