Workshops

Weekend Workshops (Saturday & Sunday) are presented in association with Peter Norris Music and supported by the IOM Arts Council. There will be two workshops on Saturday and two on Sunday at Peter Norris Music, 39 Finch Road, Douglas, IM1 2PW (Tel. 01624 661794).

Admission by eTicket only (cash on door may be possible if not sold out).

Saturday Workshops

  • 10:30am to 12 noon - Adam Bulley – Mandolin workshop

    Adam will focus on the mandolin’s role in folk and bluegrass music. It will look at contrasting pieces, covering the melodies and techniques.

  • 14:00 to 15:30 - Roland Chadwick - 'Santana' Workshop

    Roland Chadwick’s practical workshop will take participants through Carlos Santana's “Oye Como Va” focusing on simple chord changes, melodic playing and basic improvisation. (All standards of player welcomed as there will be beginner, intermediate and advanced sections of the song available to work on.)



Sunday Workshops

  • 12 noon to 13:30 - Chas MacKenzie – Rhythm Guitar workshop

    Chas will focus on rhythm guitar accompaniment using acoustic guitar. Looking at strumming techniques, harmony and chord substitutions.

  • 14:00 to 14:30 - Dan Arborise – Effects workshop

    In a rare workshop, Dan will discuss the technological side of his live music making. Use of delay and looping effects will be explored, and a live performance will be deconstructed and then reconstructed to show how it all comes together!



Student pass is £10 for all 4 workshops; Adult pass for all 4 workshops is £20 and Individual events are £10.

Tickets for masterclasses will be "first-come first-served" as only a limited number are available
